Overview: Popularly known as Devil's Ivy and golden pothos, the money plant is scientifically called Epipremnum aureum. It is one of the most popular indoor plants associated with the myth of bringing financial prosperity. Money plant belongs to the arum family, Araceae, and is native to Southeast Asia. The trailing vines and heart-shaped leaves of the money plant make it highly attractive. It is a perfect indoor plant to bring greenery into the house. The best part is it is a low-maintenance plant and is believed to purify the air.

Appearance: The money plant is characterized by heart-shaped leaves and trailing vines. Usually, the leaves are green in color, but you can find a lot more colors in money plants with varietal differences. Light green leaves with yellow spots and dark green flashy leaves are the most common. The vines of money plant trails along the walls or trees and give a lush and vibrant appearance adding beauty and greenery to any space.

Hard/Soft Plant: Money plant is a hardy plant that can survive in adverse conditions. However, maintaining everything under range will help the plant thrive.

Ideal water temperature: Money plant requires room temperature. It grows well in slightly warmer temperatures.

Water requirements- Money plant is a low-maintenance indoor plant that doesn't require too much attention. Watering once in 3-4 days or depending upon the climate will suffice. If you see the soil getting dry, water the plant. Do not water money plants with extremely cold water as it can bring the plant to shock and cause damage.

Make sure to water your money plant regularly, but not too frequently, to prevent overwatering and root rot.

Lightening Conditions: Money plants thrive well when kept in bright and indirect light. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, as this can scorch their leaves. If you notice that your money plant's leaves are turning yellow or brown, it may be receiving too much light. On the other hand, if the leaves are small and pale, the plant may not be getting enough light. Try moving your money plant to a spot where it receives bright, indirect light for several hours a day.

Ideal pH level: The ideal pH for money plants is between 6.0 and 7.5.

Propagation- Propagating a money plant is easy as you can do it with stem or root cutting. For stem cuttings, select a healthy stem with at least two leaves, cut it at a 45-degree angle, dip it in the rooting hormone, and plant it in moist soil. For root cuttings, separate roots into sections and replant them in fresh soil. Water regularly and keep in a warm, bright spot with indirect sunlight.

Do you know- Money plants are believed to bring good luck and financial prosperity to households? They have air-purifying properties.
